What it is
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ is a combination protein blend. By using a whey protein isolate (WPI) as the primary ingredient along with premium ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate (WPC), every serving contains 24g of high quality protein to support muscle building, increase lean body mass, and fat loss. Since the combination is both high in protein and other nutrients, it makes is a great protein option for anyone.
What it does
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ is a low fat and low carbohydrate protein blend and contains the following:
WPI: 90%+ pure protein (minimal lactose and cholesterol, fat free). WPI is “predigested” meaning that it is partially digested that way it is rapidly digested and absorbed into the bloodstream.
WPC: contains less protein on a gram for gram basis than an isolate; however, what it does contain are beneficial compounds like growth factors, immunoglobulins, calcium, glutamine, lactose, some fat, and carbohydrates. They are more slowly released that way amino acids are available for longer post-training.
BCAAS (5g): helps in muscle growth, repair, and recovery.
Glutamine (4.4g): helps to minimize the breakdown of muscle and improve protein metabolism. Low levels of glutamine is associated with decreases in strength, stamina, and recovery.
When to take
Gold Standard 100% Whey™ is perfect post workout or if you’re on the go and need a quick snack between meals. Add one rounded scoop (30g) of Gold Standard 100% Whey™ with 6-8 oz of water or your favorite beverage. If you prefer a richer flavor use less water. You can also try mixing it into oatmeal, in the milk that you pour over cereal, and even in your baking (i.e. muffins, cookies, brownies, etc).
SUGGESTED USE: Consume approximately 0.8-1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight each day through both high protein foods and supplements.
